Summer Is Over, Time to Work

SUMMER IS OVER!

I know it’s not actually over, but I feel like mine is. I’ve been out of town for over two weeks (minus the three days in between trips), and I managed to fit in a lot on those trips…. One might say all of summer… I went on a road trip, went to the beach, ate ice cream, saw summer-time movies, watched fire-works, read a few funny/light books, slept in, stayed up late, went to TWO baseball games, and wore shorts. I figured that since I’m so busy, I might as well cram in as much frivolous fun in while I could… But I’m back and ready to jump back in to things…

I’ve got to get a new draft of Under The Gods’ Golden Cleats ready before the end of the month so that I can submit it to Marin Theatre Company’s new play contest, Aurora’s GAP program, and a few other places… 31 Plays in 31 Days is around the corner (HAVE YOU SIGNED UP YET?)! And I have a seriously crazy plan for tackling this year’s challenge… I still need to find suitable childcare for my kids for when I’m in class… I need to put in my hours on my new play, and I need to tighten up my scripts for BABIES: The Ultimate Birth Control (and we have auditions tonight!)…. So, yeah, summer fun is gone… I’m ready for all that hard work fun! Bring it on!

Photos From the 2013 SF Olympians’ Festival Publicity Shoot

This past weekend I threw on one of my kid’s sheets and took pictures with a handful of my fellow writers from the San Francisco Olympians’ Festival at Alamo Square in San Francisco. Claire Rice was our brilliant photographer, and here are a couple of pictures! If you want to see more, check out the San Francisco Olympians’ Festival facebook page for the rest!

Here I am doing my best forest nymph impression.

If you’re on facebook, the pictures are all over my page, or you can click through to my site to see them all over again.

We Are Victorious #thefantasyclub

The kickstarter campaign is over, and we made it! Isn’t that wonderful? I think so. We raised $4,376! We had 90 backers! Thank you Elizabeth Flanagan (one of our last minute donors).

Thank you to everyone who donated, and thank you to everyone who shared our project! Because of you lovely folks, The Fantasy Club WILL be produced! There are only 34 days until opening night! And tickets go on sale on Monday.

Thank you again!

Whirlwind Theater Weekend

I’ve just got back from vacation, I was down in Southern California (Santa Barbara, San Diego, and LA) visiting friends and family. I drove home yesterday (one adult + two kids +6 hour drive = stress), and oddly enough I leave again on Tuesday! My life is so busy… Anyway, this is how I’m spending my four days home before I am away again…

Tonight I’m seeing Bigger Than A Breadbox’s production of ‘TIS PITY SHE’S A WHORE: A World Premiere Adaptation. I bought my ticket nice and early luckily, because their entire run sold out! Congratulations guys!

Tomorrow, I’ll be at the San Francisco Olympians’ Festival photo shoot and then recording podcasts the rest of the day….

Sunday, I’ll be recording podcasts all day again, woo! Although I am bummed that I’ll be missing Pride this year, I have a feeling it’s going to be very, very big.

Monday is the staged reading of Terrible People my one-act comedy about lady killers. Not men who are great with women, but ladies that kill people. Hopefully the BART strike won’t keep everyone away. If you’re free and are able to get there, it will be downstairs at the Shelton Theater, the address is 533 Sutter St. Starts at 7:30pm.

Phew! So, basically non-stop fun until I jump on a plane (thank God we’re flying) and go on our next adventure!

10 Hours Left #thefantasyclub

Only TEN hours left to donate money for The Fantasy Club’s kickstarter campaign!

We’re currently at $4,200 thanks to our wonderful donors. If we manage to make it to 5k before midnight we will give two The Fantasy Club condoms out to everyone who donated $25 or more. So tell you friends!

I would like to thank Mary Lou Torre, Matt Gunnison, Stacey Arthur, Charles Lewis III, and Allison Page, they are our most recent donors!

Join the cool kids and give today, it’s your last chance!

I’ve Got a New Title!

Guess what? I’m now the Co-Artistic Director of All Terrain Theater! Effective immediately! I will be producing the play All Terrain Theater will have in BOA this year, and next year I will be picking plays to workshop and (perhaps) produce! Woo!

Made It to 4k! Can We Push to 5k? #thefantasyclub

Yesterday was AWESOME! DOMA and Prop 8 were struck down, a woman standing up for what she believes in was victorious in Texas, and on a much smaller scale, WE MADE OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL! Thank you Kristoffer Alberto, Rob Reeves, Karissa George, Bridgette Portman, Nikki DeBraccio, Allison Stensrude, and Patrick Brennan (who, by upping his original pledge, took us up to the 4k mark!). You guys are rock stars!

A huge, HUGE thank you too all the lovely people who have donated so far! You are ALL rock stars! And I am so thrilled that The Fantasy Club will be produced in August! No more ifs!

We’re really hoping that we can push the goal to $5,000, so keep telling the world about our campaign! And if you need a reason to do that, take a look at this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/allterraintheater/the-fantasy-club-by-rachel-bublitz/posts/522466. It’s our newest video (yes, more videos!), and it features BIKER BUBLITZ…. So, you have to find out what that is, right?

Thank you again! We’re thrilled!
